Blogstein Update

After re-thinking this villainous assault on Lex Luthor, I have decided as advised, to hold off and wait for Dr. Blogstein to revise his post. It is our contention that it was erroneous at best. After reviewing all the implications, suggestions, and ramifications; it's just not worth it. Having been in contact with Father Radic, he has suggested an olive branch: you know how to reach me.

Breaking News !?!? Lex Luthor is a VILLAN! ?

Today, on Dr. Blogstein, a man who is greatly respected, decided to compromise the very fabric of Lex Luthor. The center of contention is a scheduled interview with Father Randall Radic of whom Lex Luthor has already had one interview last year. Dr. B was gracious enough to rewrite the original since obviously Lex's talents do not extend to professional writing: the two look similar as if it will be the interview that was banned last year after being live for only 30 minutes. Lex was extremely appreciative as he always has been.

Lex Luthor has made several attempts to call Dr. Blogstein, but this has become futile since we do not have a working phone number. There has been some contact made and atleast the two friends are willing to keep channels open. A call to Father Radic has spawned several prayers to put a peaceful end to this barbarous behaviour.

Donald Trump contacted Lex Luthor a short time ago and had this to say, "I really hope that you two can work this thing out. You know I have been going at that Rosie person for weeks and she isn't very pretty. The two of you need to go have lunch and bring the Father with you. Take care Lex and I'm here for you pal!"

Advertising

According to the psychologists we presently reside in an age of diminishing expectations. And since all of us are products of this enormous bubble denominated the social reality, we don’t expect much. We actually believe that the future is “selling less of more.”
In other words, we expect little from life, society and our culture.
A syllogism:
The poor get poorer
The rich get richer
The poor shop at Wal-Mart.
We become self-fulfilling prophecies. Because we expect little, we get less. What we get is: Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Costco, and other retail behemoths. These monstrosities are the cancers of an economy based upon mass production. And mass production demands organized consumption and leisure – “the culture of consumption.”
The media becomes the messenger, and the message is this: you have needs of which you are unaware, and unless these needs are met you will be unhappy, dissatisfied and unfulfilled. Advertising informs your ignorance; it “is the method by which the desire is created for better things,” said Calvin Coolidge.
The prevalence of advertising, MTV, reality TV and the cult of celebrity engenders a society dominated by appearance and fame. Image is everything. Value as a human being now rests upon the pivot of prestige, the illusion of prosperity, the chimera of fame. Indeed, advertising no longer exposes products; now it produces its own product: consumption. Consumption is presented as a way of life. ‘Get a life’ means go out and buy some stuff. Stuff will make you happy. In fact, stuff – like computers, PDAs, I-pods, big-screen plasma televisions, cars, clothes, etc., will cure your loneliness, sickness, weariness and sexual dissatisfaction. Do you feel empty? Stuff will fill the void. Maybe a trip to Hawaii, where you will be surrounded by pristine beaches, and profulgent female mammai, from which all blessings gush; or maybe a new car will make you happy. And, if it doesn’t, well at least it will make your friends and neighbors jealous. And that will make you feel better about yourself. Right?
Wal-Mart has what you need to change your dull, bland life. And there’s one right down the road. Do you envy your neighbors? Wouldn’t you rather they envy you? Of course you would! Wal-Mart can solve your problem. Go buy some stuff.
However, what they don’t tell you is that these behemoths aim at the domination of a class, a domination which recognizes no overriding supremacy of personal freedom. Succumbing to such advertisements is nothing but an inward abdication and resignation, or a craven hope of escaping reality by means of the ‘mysticism of stuff.’
Rich people don’t shop at Wal-Mart. They’d rather be found dead in a ditch. Rich people shop at small, exclusive shops such as Nieman Marcus, which compared to Wal-Mart is a boutique.
Throw off your chains! Free yourself from your class. Shop locally. Shop the independents. Shop from ShopFromHomepage, which caters to real companies offering real products.

CARS

MACHINEHEAD, or the beauty of Das Auto, which is elsewhere

Erotica for dreams. Automobiles for pieces justificatives, supporting documents. Cars for lifestyle statements. Motorcycles for penile extensions. BMW for breasts. Mercedes Benz for sexual proclivity. Ferrari for charisma. Jaguar for lineage. Corvette for sexual prowess. And Camaro Z-28 for the wanna' be's. America, this is your life!

Plastic flesh, fraudulent statistics, sexual anesthetization, and cars for personality statements -- statements of sophistication, of wealth, of sexual orientation, of verve and animation. Automobiles are marquee events because they offer what the proprietor cannot, or does not, or will not, have -- beauty, "a life," ecstasy. Cars represent the belief that a mechanical transportation device can provide douceur de vivre, the sweetness of life. Vicarial life through a car. Whooooooooeeeeeeeee! Where did we get these guys -- and come over here, you've got to see this to believe it! Ha, ha, ha!

Mannered technology, I call it. It lightens the burden of not having a life, not being able to love, not being able to get laid, being impotent, being frigid, being anti-social, being coversationally handicapped -- not being able to feel love, or to be loved. So in this mannered technology -- in cars -- the Western world attempts to find solace in the insulating symbolism of their preferred automobile manufacturer and model.

Vicarial life: leather seats to caress the buttocks that no human being cares to caress. CD players booming out rap-music to replace the words that one wants to hear: "I love you. You're beautiful to me." Eight cup-holders to restrain the cup, that wets the lips, that never get kissed. Chromed, egregious wheels to substitute for the personality that is insipid. Low-profile tires to catch, grip, and feel the road that has become one's ribbon of life: corrugated, dessicated, lonely, black. Buttons, stalks and panels to provide a semblance of control -- a mere touch and it responds. You turn the key and it responds: it gets turned-on. You hit the brake, and the pace slows. You punch the gas and it presses you back, sexually, and the engine vibrates lubriciously between your thighs -- just like your dildo. The shifter is phallic. The interior is a vaginal cave. It's all you've ever wanted or dreamed of -- but something's wrong. It's not real -- it's not love, or beauty or life.

Obliquity of life. Elastic attitude toward the truth, which is that you haven't got a life, and never will have one. The prestidigitation of mendacity -- lying to one's self. Dull, colorless and boring. The masses are the final tyrants: get a life! Buy a car like mine! The vast primitive power of mediocrity. One's life is so crepuscular and/or uneventful that one attains an emotional truce with one's self. One confuses standard of living with quality of life. So I buy a car. And my life becomes mechanical and predictable. The salesman is my mentor, the mechanic is my marriage counselor. My insurance man is my spiritual advisor. And my banker is my god -- because he makes it all possible.

Cars are a tawdry magician's trick. Lying to one's self carries no vestige of beauty. My car is not the salient me. My VW Golf (I lusted for a BMW 330) is only another way of despairing of the truth: I am not beautiful, and no one loves me.

Face Value

No image captures our attention quite like the human face -- its ability to communicate is unparalleled. All of mankind believes themselves to be 'face readers,' too. Phi, or the golden section, would appear to be the universal standard of beauty (whether we like it, or not). Phi is 1 to 1.618. Shan Baker, the president of the AAFPRS (American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) puts it this way: "While beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, there's a real mathematical equation for measuring a person's attractiveness. In fact, the skeletal proportions are the true determining factors." According to the AAFPRS the perfect face looks like this: high cheekbones and a clear complexion are givens, but the well-proportioned face also divides into equal thirds when lines are drawn through the forehead hairline, the brow, the base of the nose and the edge of the chin. For women, short, delicate jaws, fine chins and graceful noses, along with prominent eyes, full lips and visible cheekbones. For men: broad foreheads, deep-set eyes, imposing brows, and strong jaws make up the most desirable male.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, brings us to the concept of 'assortative mating,' i.e., the attraction to others who are like oneself. "Wanna' go for a ride?!" Well, here we go: most couples, husbands and wives, tend to be similar. They come from similar religious backgrounds, from similar ethnic backgrounds, have similar levels of innate intelligence, and many similar personality traits, including moral codes. From whence comes this congruity?

Well .... Aristophanes, the comic satirist, presented a unique take on the concept. It goes like this: the god, Apollo, divided man into two parts, each part desiring its other half; and once they came together, throwing their arms about each other, they entwined in mutual embraces, longing to once again become one. Eventually, they were on the verge of dying from hunger and self-neglecet, because they did not like to to anything apart from each other. But when one of them died and the other survived, the survivor sought another mate, man or woman as we call them, and grabbed hold of that.

Interestingly enough, this theory has corroboration. Genesis 1:27 and Genesis 2:21-22 provide a similar creation of Adam and Eve. The passage plainly reads: "And God created man in his image, in the the image of God created he him, male and female created he them." Thus it is clear that the man spoken of here, first in the singular as 'him,' and then in the plural as 'them,' originally compised in himself the nature of Eve as well as the nature of Adam. Obviously the idea expressed here in Genesis is ultimately the same as the of Aristophanes. And from the standpoint of physiology neither man nor woman is an individual in the 'whole' sense, rather the combination of the two makes up the whole. Each one of them, man alone or woman alone, is but a one-sided half of human existence. Each, by itself alone, is doomed to die; both in unison are immortal.

From these two lemmata we may gather that 'living substance' was originally asexual, or perhaps bisexual, and that its pristine state was immortal. Thus death was not the original lot of life. Death came into the world by the Fall, and subsequently by birth. Biologically, the process of meiosis and polar body are the explanation of death. Therefore, speaking philosophically, and logically, life cannot be annihilated; in other words, immortality is a fact. Indicative mood -- for the grammarians.

One single question becomes salient: why have we lost interest in our ancestors? Well .... on the one hand, the legend, the myth, is not taken literally. And since it is not taken literally, the imagination of mankind is not attracted to it. The myth is now interpreted solely as an allegory -- mayhap an interesting one -- but not factual. Now mankind believes in evolution -- "our Father up a tree ...." Evolution is ostensibly the deeper comprehension of life, and a truer insight.

Glamor has left life. We now believe in 'science.' Yet mankind cannot live with his/her own conclusions. For the etic/emic reality is this: we live not for ourselves, but for others. And therein lies the beauty of life. If 'science' is correct, and evolution is the foundation of life, then there is no beauty. It is all just chance -- a cosmic roll of the dice.

Beauty exists. I know it -- for I have seen it. Thus I side with Aristophanes and Genesis. Simply look at one beautiful face -- and you have seen the Truth. Immortality -- present, active, indicative. It is!

A Philosophy of Beauty

The first action of philosophy, the inital step, is to reduce uniformity to exception: what distinguishes one person from another is her/his beauty. Beauty is unreachable, not because it is impenetrable, but because it approaches the infinite. Each beautiful person hides an infinity. Beauty is deceptive, for essentially, we see ourselves in it, we never see the other person.

Beauty is concrete -- it rests upon its own reality. It only becomes abstract when we think about it. Thinking mutates beauty into an instrument or a concept -- it abandons reality. And by that I mean this: that a beautiful person cannot be turned into a thing without ceasing to be a person. For beauty is not settled in itself. Beautiful people are not a reality -- they create their own realities. The beautiful person is neither a person nor a thing, but perhaps a relation, or more precisely, a function: a solipsistic autonomy that alters in accordance with the perspectives of those that determine it. The victim of beauty is a function of the beautiful, not in the physioligical sense of the word, but in the mathematical sense: beauty has mutated into a number, a sign, a symbol. And mankind is seduced by numbers. Every number hides an infinity -- every number contains all the totality of all numbers, total enumeration. Beauty takes on a mathematical form. The reality of beauty is cerebral. It is easier, almost, to think of beauty than to see it. Beauty represents magnitudes of sensations. Beauty is a ceremony of symmetry and form that turns into a ballet -- a mathematical, mystical sacrifice to the organs of sense. A situation, or perhaps, a demonstration -- a theater of pulchritude.

But since beauty is mathetical, it cannot be destroyed because numbers are immortal -- it cannot be nullified by time or by age. The whole of beauty is greater than all the beauty it contains. And in that sense, beauty is unreal. Beauty is supermortal, that is, a mortal who neutralizes all else -- insensate in sensation. It is the mystical paradox: the wonderment of insensibility which has its foundation in sensibility.

Beauty is hyaline matter. It is the supreme pleasure, the most natural of pleasures. All of history, legend, memoirs, and medical observation prove the point: beauty is a ferocious copulation of viewer and viewed.

The recognition of beauty is a triumph of intelligence and sensation and emotion. Beauty is immense and unique -- wherever it is discovered. Beauty is a tyrranical philosophy. For beauty postulates a curious despotism over all mankind -- beauty does not liberate, it tosses mankind into dungeons, it binds, it imprisons, it compels, coerces and enslaves. And it enthralls. It is an incubator for a whole congerie of neuroses.

Although, what a way to go, huh?!

What, then, is beauty? What is the epistemology of beauty? In a sense, it is indefinable -- but it may be perceived: its only feature is that it is an exception, through this it may be isolated and determined. Beauty is an exception among the beautiful exceptions, a reflection among the beautiful reflections. A true consensus may be impossible.

Still, I will make an attempt: beauty is a miraculous concatenation which tittilates my soul when I look upon it.

Do We Make Good Copy?

That's an interesting question and if you pressed me for an immediate reply I could and would say only the truth: yes, yes I, we do. Is this opening in line with par for the course or of course for the line? :/ A few of you may recall that Sir Lex or Daddy Luthor was in chambers preparing the State of Luthor, the State of SFH, or the State of Mine(d). Last night, the Moment Hit Me and I initiated a draft: so to it appears some of that which inspired last nights influence has pooled a reserve for tonight: a small reserve.

This morning I had releases and story to submit to the press. This is nothing new and it really deserves no mention save the fact that I came across in 2 days now people that are either attempting to be brilliant as I, or have learned a new word titled plagiarism or lastly joined Josie and the "Copy Cats". While initially it appears as somewhat flattering, that is a feeling I do not nor need not require. A few of you who try to keep up with me know for fact that we do spend a great deal of time and energy into SFH. 8+ months now. With all the energy that has been expended, it becomes daunting to think and see others move up and find their way closer to me.

One of my sponsors found an article on Yahoo news wire discussing a new company(website) that uses the 50 States and you buy a part of the city and write a bio about yourself and some other game like attributes. It was at that point I moved on. Today though, while I am submitting press to one of my favorite news outlets, I found another pixel advertising site. Normally I would not really care about this either, but I did.

In the past few weeks I have mentioned a website called "Pixelotto": I immediately forecast that site to become a failure and it is not performing as envisioned by Alex Tew, the creator. The press release I saw today is from Dheer Gupta who is trying to copy Pixelotto: with a little exercise it appears he stretched his imagination and came up with "Pixelllite", what a pathetic site! With so much energy spent on copying ideas, one would think that some great ideas could be created, but stretching the mind can be taxing. With that said, there is only one thing left: Get On The Map! ShopFromHomepage!

Sometimes I Feel

Like I'm sitting around in a hurry to wait. The State of Affairs for "SFH" is in the final phase prior to its release. Perhaps Lex and George are timing their address for a competition of sorts: Lex tries to take the voters with his address and President Bush seeks improved market share for his. Either way it should be interesting for all; and Monday was a date of mention.

It would be great to have Lex create and disseminate on his own stage: I have much to do as do we all with the new year being here. There are plans which I can discuss; however, next week we'll be back and from there we go forward. Perhaps tomorrow: and for your listening pleasure, Валерия.

Lex Is In No Hurry

He thinks most mortals are slacking off at work and the decision makers are still on holiday: I made a few calls and unfortunately he is right(pizdec)! He has assured me for what that is worth: his first release will be after the weekend since " no one who is of importance will be reading a post promulgated through me until after the weekend; therefore, Валерия and I will be available after the weekend. Monday or Tuesday..."
